“I’ve had 5 home births. First was my smallest at 8 lb 2 oz. The rest were, in this order, 9 lb 9 oz, 10 lb, 11 lb 6 oz, and 10 lb 4 oz. No tearing or stitches or anything! And if it matters, I was a small sz 4 (US) to start out.”   ** update July 2013: baby #6 was born weighing 10 lb 11 oz.!!

~ Alejandrina V.~

~ Amanda M.P.~

9 lbs even at 39 and 6. Baby #3, natural, vag birth. 3rd degree tears along previous scar tissue. Baby had moderate shoulder distocia, but I only pushed for 8 min after laboring for 19+hours (following 6 days of prodromal labor, lol). My roughest pregnancy and labor. I’m 5’5″, and weighed 196 the day I went into labor, pre preg weight was 160ish. I had gained 8 lbs in the last 6 days of pregnancy tho :(“

~ Andrea P.~

“‎#1 was 9 lbs 9 oz & was a 1 day late! They did cut me. She is now 13 yrs old almost 5’5 & 120 lbs.  #2 was 9 lbs 6 oz & was a whole week early.  Knowing the size of #1 & an ultra-sound, the DR. wanted me to have a C-section & I told him since I had a feeling this would be smaller.  I said only worst case..meaning if I had problems.  He is now 9 yrs old & almost 5 ft tall & 110 lbs. #3 was 8 lbs 13 oz, yes under 9 lbs But he was taken 2 days early knowing #1 & #2 size plus an ultra-sound…but he was smaller…yet he scratched me on the way out & the DR stitched me! I guess he was not ready to come out!! He is now 8 yrs old & few inches shorter then #2 & about 67 lbs!!! Also keep in mind my husband is 6’6 tall yet both of us are were 8 lb babies!!!”

“February 5th, 2010 (also my son’s birthday he was 8 that day) – My mother gave birth to a 10 lbs 2 oz baby boy, (her due date for him was January 7th!) at home in her bathtub, with just her and her husband. The doctors tried to convince her to do a c-section for many reasons… her weight (40+ lbs overweight), her age 45 at the time, they said she had gestational diabetes, and this was her 6th live birth. She said she had never had a c-section and she wasn’t about to start. She also said it was by far her easiest labor. The rest of us were between 8-9 lbs at birth!”

~ Donna C. ~

“I don’t have pics readily accessible (aka on my computer), but 3 of my 4 kiddos were over 9 pounds.  Baby #2…9 lb 1 oz. I tore a little, but not badly and it healed quickly.  Baby #3…10 lb 2 oz. He had shoulder dystocia, but it was easily dealt with by a great OB. No other issues, and his was my easiest delivery!  Baby #4…9 lb 6 oz. No tearing.”

“I just had my third baby a little girl on the 11 th and she was 8 p 15 oz and I was planning a home birth but some things went south with my health so I went to hospital and had to be induced to keep us safe and after an ultra sound that said her possible weight of 9 lb he was afraid of shoulder distocia and offers me a c section I refused and she was born 10 min later and I had no tears or trauma and she was perfect.to me she didn’t see like a BIG baby but they did glucose tests on her because she was considered big but she was fine!!!! I love my little Chunker”

My first born was 9lb 11oz spontaneous drug free vaginal at 42 weeks.
I went in to have an 8lb 11oz home birth, and then a drugfree, hands off, spontaneous vaginal twin birth with both twins BREECH. Time for people to stop telling us what we can’t do.

“I will try to find some pictures to share. My second baby, first son, now age 8 was 10 lb 8 1/2 oz. Born naturally, at home, in water. My third baby, second son now 4 years old was 10 lb 1 oz. Born naturally, at home after a very short, pain-free (awesome hypnobirthing!) labour. My big boys were quite a surprise after their 7 lb 5 oz sister :D”

“My first was only 7lb 4oz long birth 2days had gas, air and pethadine.  My daughter wad born 11 yrs later.  I went in, the midwife said you’re only 4cm and she was going 2 send me home thank god she didn’t my waters broke at 915pm, I started pushing at 9:45pm. I was 7cm I was scared as I had no time for pain relief but she wasn’t giving me time 2 worry as she was born at 10:08 at 9lb 3oz and I needed no stitches and not having pethadine made me feel great didn’t feel tired.  I’m currently pregnant due July it will be interesting to see what size this one is.”

  1. My 1st baby was 9lbs 5oz and 21in long, birthed with no drugs in the hospital. I had one small tear (no stitches). My 2nd baby (girl) was 9lbs 10oz and 21in long. Born at home in the tub, 5 hr labor using hypnobirthing. Again one small tear (no stitches). I am 5′ 9″ and pp weight 140lbs. My hips are very small and narrow & nobody believed me when I thought I was having a big baby, even the midwife said 8lbs at the most – with both of them! Love my big chunkers, my arms have never been more toned!
